Invisible Text for TikTok

Spacing out a TikTok bio needs a character that shows nothing but still counts as text, which is what an invisible character is. Copy one here and paste it into your bio to get real blank lines, or into your name to leave it looking empty.

How to do it

Press Copy above.
Open Edit profile. Tap into your bio or name.
Paste one character onto each line you want left empty.
Save, then view your own profile as a visitor would. The edit screen and the profile do not always agree.

Write the bio somewhere else first

This is the tip that saves the most time on TikTok, and it has nothing to do with invisible characters.

The bio box does not always give you a working return key — depending on your phone and keyboard, pressing it either does nothing or closes the box. So people conclude TikTok will not take line breaks at all, when the real problem is the keyboard.

Write the whole bio in a notes app instead, with the line breaks and the invisible characters where you want them, then copy the lot and paste it into the bio in one go.

Bio first, name second

The bio accepts these characters more easily than the name field does. If you want both, do the bio first — that way you know the character itself works before you spend a name change on it.

TikTok limits how often you can change your name. Paste your result into a draft message first and check it survived, rather than finding out afterwards.

What it does not change

Your @username. It only takes letters, numbers, underscores and full stops, so it can never be blank — for anyone. The name above it is the one that can look empty.
How people find you. Search works from your @username, so a blank display name does not hide your account.
Your comments and captions. Those are separate boxes. The same character works in both, and a blank line in a long caption is the usual reason to bother.

What usually goes wrong on TikTok

The name field rejects it, the bio accepts it. This is the most common outcome. The name field is checked more strictly. Do the bio first so you know the character itself works.
Your bio spacing closed up again. Each empty-looking line needs its own character. One at the top will not hold the rest of the gaps open.
The return key does nothing. Not a character problem. Write the bio in a notes app and paste it in complete, as above.
It saved, then reverted a day later. Some profile edits are reviewed after the fact. If it keeps reverting, pair one visible character with the blanks rather than going fully empty.
The bio hit its limit sooner than expected. Every invisible character counts against the bio length exactly like a letter, so a heavily spaced bio leaves you less room to write.

TikTok limits how often you can change your display name, so a failed attempt costs you more than the time it took. Paste into a draft message and look at it before you commit.

My bio spacing disappeared.

Each empty-looking line needs its own character. One pasted at the top will not hold the rest of the gaps open.

The name field will not take it.

The name field is stricter than the bio. Open Choose a different character above and work down the list.

My keyboard has no return key in the bio.

A known annoyance and not a character problem. Type the bio in a notes app with the line breaks already in it, then copy and paste the whole thing into TikTok at once.

Can I use it in comments?

Yes, and in captions. Both accept the same character, and a blank line inside a long caption is the usual reason people want one.

Can my @username be blank?

No. It accepts only letters, numbers, underscores and full stops, so no invisible character fits the rule. That applies to everyone, not just you.

Will my profile still be searchable?

People find you by your @username, which does not change here. A blank display name mainly affects how your profile looks.
